Has anyone dl'd the new MS "patch"?

MS has a new "patch" which blocks the ADODB.stream object in IE. I have read that some folks have had real problems after they have installed this patch. Mostly it was getting into their online bank accounts and things like that, but have any of you had any problems with this?

I'm actually having that bank problem right now. SBC/Yahoo is constantly charging my bank account with no given reason. I'm furious because my bank keeps allowing it even though I've specifically filled out fraud forms to stop it. So, I'm glad for any such patches. >

Thanks for the timely replies. Very much appreciated. Will go install now.

OK. Done. I'm going to hold my breath while I test this out, but so far so good.

I also read about a browser called Firefox by Mozilla. Read some good stuff about it. I've been using IE shells like AvantBrowser and others like that. I gather Firefox is not a shell? If I use that, do I have to worry about the IE vulnerabilities?

i say to download the patch there is no such problem in many of the pcs i dont wat werewolf is talking abt.. i didnt get it can any1 plz xplain it to me!!!!!

Sorry for not including a link in the first place

I've had the patch since the day I wrote this and everything seems to be doing just fine. I also switched my browser to Mozilla Firefox, which probably negated the need for this patch. Don't know. Couldn't find enough information on how, exactly, Firefox ties in to everything. I had to reinstall all the extras, like the Flash player, Suns version of Java, etc.

The patch has not caused any problems.

I have been using firefox for about a month now. I love the tabbed browsing and built-in pop-up blocking. Since it is not integrated with the operating system, it is not vulnerable to many of the potential problems that internet explorer is. I find that it is fairly fast and like being able to switch the toolbar icons quickly - there are some nice skins out there.

I did, however, also download and install the IE patch - still use internet explorer to download windows updates.
