Folder Portal like a Menu?

In order to clean up my desktop, with it's many app shortcut icons, I am looking for a way to have a folder on my desktop to act more like a menu to launch apps - like on my smart phone.

I thought a Folder Portal set as a Roll-Up Fence would be close, but I still have to double-click the shortcuts in the Folder Portal to launch the apps. At least I don't have to launch a File Explorer window, but I wanted something even even quicker.

Is there any way to make the items in a Folder Portal open with just a single click? Is there some other StarDock feature that would give me what I am looking for?

I fully agree that the roll up feature of fences could be better. I would prefer "one click" open / close myself.

Another issue I have is that the header moves down with the rolled down fence meaning you have to chase down the new header position to close the rolled up fence again. It would be soo much easier if the header stayed put so I could open / close faster.

Hopefully in the future Stardock refines the roll up feature

With that said, I actually use the page feature for my folder portals. I just leave my folder portals all left open and aligned for quick access. Switching pages left or right is a lot more quick and the folder portals are still hidden since the open portals are on another page.

Have you considered using the Windows 10 style in Start11v2? That's pretty much how it works. It's rolled up until you click the start button, and then a single-click opens any shortcut.

Or give an option to get rid of the header altogether.

What I think I can do instead is to use Stardock ObjectDock.

A Simple Tabbed Dock with just one tab (for the label) that auto-hides and contains multiple Shortcuts to apps seems to be doing the trick.
