Possible conflict Ctrl+T hotkey with Photoshop 2025 similar hotkey

Hello!

I use Photoshop, and it seems that Ctrl+T in Photoshop behaves erratically when Groupy is enabled and Windows Explorer opened. Regardless of whether Ctrl+T is set in Groupy to open a new tab when possible.

In Photoshop, Ctrl+T is used for "free transform." Could it be that the Ctrl+T hotkey in Groupy is conflicting with Photoshop?

Would it be possible to exclude Photoshop from Groupy's hotkeys? Or alternatively, allow users to change Groupy's hotkeys to different key combinations?

I've already added Photoshop to the blocked applications in the Grouping rules, but it doesn't change anything...

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I tested and please try this. While Photoshop is grouped->Shift click on Photoshop Groupy tab->tick "Exclude from Ctrl-T support"

Thanks for the quick feedback. Unfortunately, I don't have this option in the menu! I don't have anything below "Settings"...

Please use "Shift+Click" to get to that menu. As mentioned here.

Oh, my bad, thanks for the precision.

So, I excluded Photoshop from Groupy's Ctrl+T (and even from grouping), but the hotkey conflict seems to persist... If I change "Free Transform" in Photoshop to Ctrl+R for example, it works. But as soon as I set it back to Ctrl+T AND Groupy is enabled, it gets in troubles...

I don't see it in my system. But, I am using older Adobe Photoshop. Is the issue still happening if you set Adobe Photoshop to be ignored by Groupy and do not group it with anything?

Right, and I did more tests to be more accurate:

  1. Explorer must be open.
  2. Groupy must be enabled.
  3. In Photoshop (v26.3), I open an image.
  4. I want to drag and drop another image from Explorer into this image into Photoshop.
  5. The image is dropped into the open image in Photoshop (it appears as a layer).
  6. At this point, pressing Ctrl+T in Photoshop does nothing.
  7. If I switch to another program or click elsewhere and then return to Photoshop, Ctrl+T starts working again.

So, it seems that the issue occurs when I drag and drop an image into Photoshop from Explorer and immediately try to use Ctrl+T to transform it.

It's as if, right after dragging the image into Photoshop from Explorer, Photoshop doesn't fully regain control over the Ctrl+T shortcut. Ctrl+T seems "frozen," while all other hotkeys and shortcuts work fine.

Quite weird... And if I disable Groupy, everything works fine again...
