Just a tekernickal question: Is there a difference between the list of downloadable files displayed by Component manager and Stardock Central? |
The displaying of the downloadble files is grouped differently, OD Net, Games, WinCustomize, Misc, Free Stuff
OD Net: all the apps that make it up
Games: Dragin Net games
WinCustomize: WinC-Browser, WinC-Browser-Tray-app
Misc: CursorXP
Free Stuff: ObjectDock, games, utils (bench, smart exception)
Documentation: Online Documentation for each product and links to tutorials.
News: StarDock News
Discussion: Messageboard Browser which has evolved extreamly well, so much in fact I do not load the WinC-Browser much anymore
Chat: Irc Chat Client
Web-Browser: Default SDC's overlay on the IE Browser Engine, or your systems default Browser
Skins and Themes: This is the Library Browser which is almost an exact replica of WinCustomize-Browser, all the functionality but seems faster to me.
SDC also manages OD Net (Object Desktop and all other aspects of Stardock products much better than WinC-Browser and CM combined or so it seems, much bettter intergration to the point that it is like an IDE structure. SDC was designed to replace those two over all I'am thinking and does it very well indeed.
You can update all subscriptions to Stardock product from inside SDC including WinC-Subscription.
(I usually use CM because SC doesn't work as well behind my corporate firewall.)Hmm? Well? Eh? |
If you like I can get the ports used and list them which might help you configure your system to pass through the firewall, brand and model of firewall would help which would allow visiting the site to load up the tech info on it...
StarDockCentral is leaps and bounds beyond CM, again in my opinion. I find that SDC handles OD Net, downloads, Updates and such much, much more conscisly and faster with SDC being a one stop GUI to everything Stardock and WinC....
Tim your site is looking fantastic btw
