Customize broadcast key

Choose different key) and number of tries needed to call it

Hello,

Can we get the ability to customize the broadcast key to something else? Control is used in a lot of apps/games and it's easy to unintentionally hit even with it being three times. Seems like it would be something relatively easy to implement and a quick win for customers.

Thanks!

Any update on this one?

I have tried using a program called Key Manager that allows me to set a hotkey that then triggers other keys (in this case, LShift + ` to trigger LCtrl + LCtrl + LCtrl). I validated with the on screen keyboard that Key Manager is sending Multiplicity's trigger keys, but it is not starting broadcast mode. Both programs are running as an Administrator.

I also tried another program and can confirm pressing Ctrl three times is being triggered when using a different hotkey, via looking at the osk.exe visual.

It seems Multiplicity ignores those presses from either app... is there a way to get it working, or customize the broadcast key combo?

Checking in on this to see if any work has been done. Would love to be able to customize the broadcast key and the number of times it needs to be used to broadcast. When doing a lot of broadcasts in rapid succession, I am hammering the CTRL key too often, which leads to it not always detecting the key press.

Was anything done with regards to this ?

I want to be able to use the broadcast key in a macro , but because its locked as ctrl *3 i cant use this combination in my macros as it doesnt get recognised, being able to reasign a keypress for broadcasting would make this doable.

Or have i missed something with regards to being able to do this ?

any updates on this ? i only ask because the original post was almost 3 years ago and it doesnt seem like anything has changed.

Hi. I'm the original post creator. New features appear to be a rare commodity with Multiplicity, unfortunately. I tried messaging the developer directly during v4 beta and didn't get a response before v4 shipped.

I don't think their primary use case for the software is for games, even though it appears to be getting more popular the last few years.

hi, yeah im noticing the customer service isnt the best, least they could do is give you a genuine answer rather than leaving it open ended for years.

money wasted on my part.

It is looking likely that this will be added into the next version of Multiplicity.

I appreciate that it isn't as quickly as some people wanted, but the mechanism for the relay code hotkey is entirely different to the rest of the hotkeys which is why it wasn't set to be something you could customize.

In the future you should be able to assign a hotkey to toggle this using the usual Multiplicity hotkeys control panel.
