I just bought this game (Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, from Steam) last week, and have been stress-testing it for 2 hours now.
I have 2 main issues:
1) Game crashed for me twice so far, in the middle of that Zosmos map with 11 insane AI, first about 40 mins in, when there were like thousands of units (with resource harvest set to highest). The other about 15 mins in, barely even mid-game.
2) I noticed that I cannot save the game after a certain point of time. I checked other online sources so far, and it seems that the game doesn't save when the file gets too large (beyond 17 MB for me). And due to this, I cannot bypass the crashes to progress for huge games.
Other information:
My system: (a new comp, got it less than 2 weeks ago)
i7-8700 (non-K)
16 GB RAM 3200mhz
GTX 1070 Ti 8GB VRAM
Windows 10 version 1803, OS build 17134.191 (I think it's the creator's update or something, not sure)
Latest Nvidia Video Drivers
Graphical Settings:
All maxed, except MSAA set to 2x only. Direct X 12.
Temperatures:
My temps when the comp is absolutely maxed out (95% CPU and GPU load) under CPU benchmark are around 75-76 degrees C. Same for when there are thousands of units when running that 11 insane AI map.
Stability in other games:
Played Planetary Annihilation with 10 planets, 8 AI for hours, maxed settings, no issues. Most extreme settings on Total War: Shogun 2 with 10000 units, no issues too. Pillars of Eternity 2, Civilization 6, both no issues too, for hours.
Performance on AOTS: Escalation benchmarks:
Both very good for GPU and CPU intensive benchmarks - 50+ FPS each on average, maxed settings.

I'm not sure what is the issue ... but I've looked up the forums and it seems that I may not be alone in this, since a lot of people get crashes too. I read something about the Windows creator update de-stabilising DX 12 or something. However, I asked around on the Steam forum, and it seems like some people who use DX 12 and have near-similar specs to mine have no problems: https://steamcommunity.com/app/507490/discussions/0/1733210552648704174/
Thanks!
Other things:
When I crashed twice, I got to that funny program that asked me what I was doing etc. when the game crashed. I'm not sure where are the crash logs. Maybe I can share it if I know where it is kept. I did remember sending it before I closed it though.
