Howdy all,
Was hoping to get a bit of help and/or insight into slowing down research. I like to play on games with a very slow research rate, because...well because I like it like that. In GC 2 this was simply fixed by changing all the values on research and boom...I was happy. In GC 3, all the tech trees are different and changing them all seems a bit labor intensive, especially if they change them quite a bit...I mean if they add something to them, that means I would have to try and sort thru them all to find it and then increase it and if I dont...would that cause crashes and such? Not liking this option.
I have messed around in Pacingdefs.xml and this helped a bit...but if you change the very slow value in research, say to 200% lol...you have to drop almost 6-7 buildings to even generate a tiny bit of research, which is not what im going for. Maybe I could change the value of what the buildings give for research...that would slow it down...will have to look into that.(Dont ya love when people have conversations with themselves...online...in a forum...asking others for help...than talk to themselves...well at least I didnt type out my argument I just had about typing all of this out...)
I know I could simply not build research buildings, but that also isnt what im going for. Hopefully some others will have some good ideas or whatnot, or maybe I missed another file that will help me out a bit. Thanks again!
