They're calling it an outright theft. Some celebs are calling the pics fakes. Yeah right. Lol

Why would anyone put nude pics of themselves in the cloud?

Just dumb.

Must be because they themselves are already living in the cloud.   :X

Frankly, m' dear, I don't give a damn.

Ya seen one naked celebrity ya seen 'em all.... what with all the Botox and plasic surgery to remove/hide their flaws/downright ugly bits.

I read of one Hollywood star who had her 'pink parts' lifted so it looked "nicer and not so ragged".

Hehe, I thought right then and there: "Well if you had looked after it from the start and hadn't slept your way to the top, you would have saved yourself a heck of alot of money."

The answer to that is any publicity/exposure is better than no publicity/exposure... it's just that some thought to expose more than others.  From what I read there were various ones topless, other fully nude, others engaged in sexual acts and others with just a nipple slip or a bit of cleavage showing.  So for mine, it wasn't "just dumb", but more calculated and deliberate.

Everyone knows these days, including celebrities, that security on the internet and/or cloud, PCs or phones is easily compromised by individuals with the necessary skills, and the warnings are out there all over the place not to store sensitive material on the cloud, so why anyone would store nude pics of themselves there is a no brainer.  Free publicity and their names in the press... and the more fuss they make about it the greater the free exposure.  I mean, an out-of-work star doesn't wanna be forgotten, right!

Besides, with legit work in the movie/TV industry becoming harder to come by these days, and given how some reportedly had some rather explicit material stored there, maybe some were simply putting the feelers out there to see if there's any work available in pronography.

Free publicity may be true, but the nude thing has been done before by other celebs, and doesn't have nearly the same impact as it did in the past. They must be desperate for attention to try an old trick.

It's nothing of the sort....only cynics think otherwise.

It's simply that 'common sense' is an oxymoron.  People queue up a week to get some bull-shit phone....cos it's trendy....and one of its 'features' is online data/photo storage...

Just a tool....and likewise with any and all tools....they are invariably mis-used and abused.

People simply don't think far enough ahead.....just as MOST people are crap chess players.

When i read about it...i wasn't sorry
I mean who would upload pictures of his own naked or doing other things undressed to a freaking cloud server...
Even if they did not know they uploaded it, they have enough money to pay of folks that do know how to turn of auto sync.
And if they uploaded those pictures on purpose to share them with their friends... :troll: well you deserve no better.
At least they will learn about that mistake.

At this point i would like to give the guy behind this a slow clap.
hilarious

Or people with their tongue-in-cheek who can get a bit of mileage from it.

Of course, there's nobody on this site like that, is there! O:)

It seems Kiwis [AKA New Zealanders] have been so keen to see some of this naked celebrity flesh that they almost crashed the country's internet system by clicking on infected links hoping to see a bit of T and A.... and more.

Apparently, many were tempted to download a 'media player' that would enable them to view Jennifer Lawrence's jubbly and other bits on video, but what they got instead was a piece of malware.

After all the warnings about this kind of thing it amazes me there are still that many gullible people out there who fall for the old "ya gotta download this in order to see that" trick.  I mean, seriously?

Like I sure wanna see Dolly Parton's tits cos they've never been let loose in public, but I'm not gonna download some 'special' media player to ogle at some supposedly hacked from her phone piccies of 'em.  No siree, I'd settle for the Photoshop fakes I hear they have up over at devART before I risked that crazy idea.

 :w00t: :-"
