I agree.  I don't know why it's a pop-up instead of an item in the Event Log.  You really need to go through the Event Log in this game.  Giving a pop-up trains people to expect to be notified in a more intrusive manner, which is detracts from the Event Log.  Ignore the Event Log, and you'll miss a lot of things.  Also, as Nakisisa said, clicking Go To will start to head there, but then will go somewhere else because Go To has ADOS and will just go somewhere else on its own, which leaves you wondering what was destroyed with no easy way to find out.
