I was messing with the game trying to figured out what paths i should take, usually what the starting areas will give me. Personally i like starting next to rivers and/or ocean. Having forests nearby is good for logging as well other resources if any. I didnt want to keep pressing Ctrl+N each times til i find a suitable place to settled.
When i recruit an pioneers to setup another settlement, realise it cant unless it have food/materials in that areas. Alot of places on the map is suitable, but it wouldnt let me build anything there. So guess i need to skip the random maps and make my own map.
What i cant figure out is why the civilizations cant build boats and ships to explore or transports. Since can build docks and harbors on the shore, but dont see any units that access to water on the research trees.
Not sure about AIs are cheating or not, around fifty turns or so, a rival bump into my settlement and checking out his/her profile on their civilization, stated that they are making 78 research points per seasons, i was thinking what the hell? I had the game set on normal and trying to keep everything minimum when the game started, there were too much traits and addons to make the game crazy. Infact their are monsters that are the same ways too.
Anyway the game is nice, look like there need to be improve some more than original game. Btw is there a guide to make new unit models? And Textures for map as well? I was thinking of remaking an older game by Sierra was made back in 1997. The game i really love the most is "Lords of Magic", thinking of adding this mod to this game if possible.
