for DLC??? it's should come with game in first place, way I see it...
Although new content is always wellcome, I think it would be better to fine tuning the current, and fix bugs that are still remaining.
I agree with this. I don't even want to see any high-end gear, I think there is enough of that. I would like to see more variety in the lower end items such as different styles of leather armor or cloth items or more variety in the generic weapons.

Yes, too many time I using early item, but rare using high end gear because it's too long to reseach those tech all the way..for me that is. Early item is easy to reseach, short, simple, petty good for most of part....
what do you mean unit designs? There wouldn't be much value in additional premade unit schematics, but it'd be nice to have more things to put on units.
erm... why don't you just go in and make some custom units then? It's free that way.
Remember, the AI will use your designs when you play again (though strangely it's faction based), so you can just go and make a few good units for them.
ideally this would also add new content in the form of new traits for units
