Please forgive me if this has been asked already... I looked/searched... nothing seems to be relevant to my question.
System Specs: XP with service pack 3, AMD 2.2 ghz, 3gb ram, GeForce GTS250 graphics with 306.23 drivers, steam version of Fallen Enchantress.
OK... sometimes when ending a turn, delay is very reasonable, taking only a few seconds. Then there are times, more often that not, where the delay can take 30 seconds to 1 minute. Rarely, although it has happened, delay can take 2+ minutes.
I am somewhat new to the turn-based strategy games, at least by comparison to many others here, but I don't remember other games taking such a delay. Now, certainly, I can understand when the game is many turns in, multiple cities and enemies on the map... but what I am referring to, is turns 1-15.
Is this to be expected, possibly that I have a misconception of games needing this much time to compute AI moves? Or maybe, it's just that my machine is old and dated to the degree that this is going to be the norm, and I should expect longer delays as the game progresses? I understand that this game has a lot of items to render, but again, this is very early game where next to no map is uncovered. I am really not interested in going to purchase a new computer in order to "see" if it resolves the issues... not to mention, my wife would be a little less than happy with my definition of "needing" a new computer. Any insight or assistance is greatly appreciated.
Have a blessed day,
