Just to come clean here. I am using an ATI X1650 512MB card in a 64bit Windows 7 OS. The card is not 100% compatible but my integrated graphics card is 32MB, so I need it to play. I don't think my card is fully supported by Windows 7 and ATI stopped supporting this card, so I don't know how vital fixing my odd and rather obscene configuration will be to a successful game.
That said, I saw trees in the server version of the game and they are gone with the local data. Couldn't you just do a quick comparison of the files and see what has changed? I get no trees with the /nomultisample. I got them before changing that, as well as some other options to optimize for a shitty card like mine in a shiny new PC. You could buy the card for like 10 bucks on ebay and see what happens, but I am guessing the issue is more with the difference in the server data vs. the data we get locally. I also noticed that my local cityhub was messed up, but I will post about that in a new thread.
