This idea isn't at all that bad. I see no reason for not implementing this, yet it isn't of high priority.

Huh? Why disagree Greg? Did you ever try setting up a rally point from planet to planet? There is never a case where the improvement I suggested will collide with anything else even if you have the planet menu open etc. When you have the planet selected and you right click on another planet you cannot mess up anything. Right-click rally point set from production buildings exist in many other games and it can only make the interface better for Sins.

I also disagree with you with your claim that rally points shouldn't be placed on planets. I am not a hard core player and I don't play multiplayer but when I play singleplayer I use planet-to-planet rally points heavily. It's very handy for collecting ships in one planet from multiple planets or if I am fighting at a planet I'd send ships to that planet from other planets through rally points on the planet.

And yes I do set rally points all the time. True rarely on different planet since I tend to build factories on worlds that are border world or 1 phase jump away from where i will be fighting. If i go into fight and constantly bring reinforcements if I would set up rally point on a planet it would mess up what i want ships to do when they come into the gravity well (not necessary travelling in gravity well when i need them in fight.

So I rally either on edge where they are supposed to jump in but most of the time my rally is on capital ship....
