FireFox 12 titlebar/tabs VS WindowBlinds

Dunno if any else is having this issue with FireFox 12 when closing a tab, and am missing caption buttons in fullscreen:

I haven't tried alot of skins, but it seems to only happen with new(er) skins.

Not having that problem myself, but I'm using the Tab Mix Plus add-on for FF so maybe that's making tabs display properly for me.

Didn't do me any good. Added Tab Mix just for testing. Problem still persists. :|

im having the excact same issue snowby.... and i only downloaded firefox yesterday... so might be an issue with the latest build or soomething??

Snowy, I used to have the exact same problem. Even now, there's a slight hint of it. A stuttering. Vampothika - I really think it's more Firefox specific, because going over to Pale Moon (12.0 x64) solved that, and many of the extensions are cross compatible.

Why it happens, I haven't a clue. It could well be skin or WB related... but I really think it's something in Firefox too.

I agree with the "newer' vs. 'older' skin difference you saw... Noir doesn't have this problem whereas 'Stealth Drone' does. I don't think there's anything wrong with the skin... but I bet Jeff could get to the bottom of it.

I get this with firefox 12.0,

I'm using the "Cosmos" Theme from Stardock.

You can see the tabs overlap the top border by about 2 mm, the 3 button round buttons on the top right have their bottom part covered and I clear strip running along the top of the browser.

cheers

A 1 kinda sucks Morten....try running the Windows Experience Index....might fix it for you.

Also...make sure Firefox is set to use the default theme. Skinning it from 2 different sources at the same time can cause problems.

That was my thought too, but the score already shows as 7.3, Mike. It's WB that's picking up the score in a wrong way.
FireFox is running 'out of the box'. No themes used, but I'll check through the options again, just to be sure.

Mike... thanks. Running the WEI did help with the "accordion", but the min/max/close buttons seemed to push the "Firefox" orange rectangle up more than half way.

I just ran WEI again, too, just to be on the safe side. Didn't do anything to "fix" FireFox, but it pushed my RAM score from 7.5 to 7.7 and graphics from 7.7 to 7.9. o0
No changes made since Win7 installation, and initial WEI.

Have you tried Firefox 13 yet Snowy?

I switched over to Chrome because of issues with FF 12. Tried rolling back but FF auto updates and until a fix is made I'm done with it. Pages not loading correctly, refresh doesn't work and page loading times are ridiculous, twenty minutes to load a page? No way.

Tom, the latest version is 12.

This page might help in updating your plugins (which might also cause trouble as might themes for firefox):

http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

Example: no real problem with default theme (except with skins with larger buttons). However, with Silvermel, I get the "accordion" even with 'Noir' which NEVER gives me problems.

Hmmm, that's weird Doc, as I am using 13 right now.

FireFox 13 -> [The Nightly] for testing purpose only - oddly filenamed 'FireFox 15'.

FireFox 13 Aurora -> [@ Mozilla] pre-beta - oddly filenamed 'FireFox 14'

Getting the same with both....

I'll just wait for a response from Neil. :)

Googled it and came up with zip. Typical.  <_<

The problem is a titlebar height issue.  If the skin has a taller than normal OS caption size then firefox shows this glitch.

We had code in WB to prevent firefox from knowing the titlebar was taller but it seems the latest release of Firefox has broken this.  The next WB update works around this again.

Awesome Neil is awesome!!

/me does the Happy Hippy Handstand dance!

As a short term fix, adjust any skin with the issue to have an OS caption height of 29 or less.

Oh btw guys, this can also be circumvented by disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox. Options -> Advanced.

Sry for bringing up this old thread again.
