I've played a lot of FE this week-end. And I love the game, however there are a few things about how the game plays out that really bugs me. Maybe these have already been talked about but I could not find anything about it.
Trying to see what is under a city name on the Strategic map.
At times you want to build something under a city name. For some obscure reason we can,t remove them (at least I could not find any way to do it) If my troops go under that name sometimes you can't click on it. Maybe they could be translucent so we can see what is under them, Maybe they can be smaller, anything to remove them from blocking what is under the name
Troops auto movement, my troops are stalled. Can somebody give them a boost?
I give my troops a destination to go to. Say 20 squares away. I expect them to start moving by their own when I press next turn. However I have seen some of my troops staying put for 3 sometimes 4 turns before they start moving again. Put me in trouble a few times defending my towns. They should start moving the very next turn not wait a few turns. I saw this happening numerous times.
Having 2 heroes in my group and still being denied a treasure hut.
I sign up two new heroes and send them to the nearest treasure hut and when I get there I get the message only your sovereign or heroes can access this treasure. WTF?
Sending troops to my main city. Where the hell is the entrance?
Is it me or is it hard to find the main building of my city when it's huge? What I mean is when I have troops that I want to send to the city to reinforce my garrison how do I know which square will send them in the town? Right now I just move my cursor everywhere until it changes. Is there a way to make that simpler?
During battle in TC that icon base interface for spells I find it's not very user friendly.
It's really is not working out for me. I just don't like having to find which spell is which all the time, Does Stardock really want to keep it that way? There has to be a better way. Maybe a button that when you press it it gives you a list of spell with a small description. You could then adjust the translucence of the window?
Transferring items from one hero to another.
The game is making it a bit difficult. I have two armies. I bring one to the other because I want to transfer items from one stack to the other. When both stacks meet free for all starts. Try making sense of which army is which was a real pain. I finally re-loaded and just got the heroes together. When two stacks meet there has to be another interface that will make knowing who is who easier. Right now it's like trying to get on the highway during rush hour.
Zooming out and getting to the cloth map. I wish I could zoom out more before I got to the cloth map.
I find that the cloth map appears a bit to fast. When I zoom out I wish I would stay on the strategic map a bit longer. Personally I do not like the cloth map much. I prefer the real map. But I wish I could get a higher birds view of it. I do not know if that is possible but I would like it.
Having your new troops starting outside the city
I find having this happening is unpracticle. I would prefer having my new units in the city.
As you can all see it's little things. The core game I love.
The heroes take longer to level I love that I think it's more balance.
Treasure huts seem more balance.
The AI is a lot better than before. (playing on normal)
I still feel in my game that there were too many shards but I think I can adjust that so that's really cool
The speed of the game is a lot better than before. Playing with 2 ai and the game only lasted a few days. (playing a few hours only a day)
