I stumbled upon this on YouTube. It's a method for taking 3D tracking data from Voodoo (PFTrack or SynthEyes should also work), and then deforming a sphere in Blender to fit those tracking points so you create a rough mesh from them, and then projecting the original image onto the mesh. It's basically a poor man's Faceshop, only better IMO because it captures 3D data directly from the model--and it's free.
This may have more use for 3D or VFX enthusiasts in general, but it could have great implications for game modding. I'd like to see what results can be attained with a turntable and a keyed out background.
