Ok so I started a metaverse game as the thalans and its getting a bit interesting.
large galaxy... challenging difficulty.
So at the begining I went on the colony rush bandwagon... only to find that all 5 star systems in my area had no habitable planets except for one thats owned by a minor race. #4%&*(#^&*@!!!!! But I did get on my homeword a bonus thing that gives... 300% I think bonus to manufacturing and placed my hyperion matrix on it... 
Then I colonized a class 4 world... mostly just to help stabalize my economy... and another world out in torian space... it had two 300% research tiles on it... bingo, research capital. and then another planet sucluded from the rest of mine, its kind of at a junction around arcean,iconian, and korath space. But other then a couple extreme planets there was nothing else to colonize... so I just worked on improving my economy, research, manufacturing etc.
I was however begining to notice my neighbors racking up military ships... I ignored it and decided to keep on improving my worlds since their the only thing I got. Then some invisible powder keg went off somewhere and everyone is suddenly declaring war on each other... the torians were the first, declaring war on several people and then signing peace treaties and going to war with someone else. Then the Iconians declared war on me... I finally started building ships... I checked the timeline and my military buildup is the fastest on the board only rivaled by the biggest civ the iconians. But I haven't seen one iconian warship enter my space since it started. Next the Drengin declared war on me... and the torians declared war on them. then the drath gave me some warships... and I convinced the arceans to go to war with their neighbors, the drengin and iconians... that would tie those guys up giving me room to fight the korath clan which by the way... also declared war on me.
I checked the reports a few game months before the attacks... yeah most the reason was because I didn't have any warships... free planets to them right? WRONG!
So here is the current areas controlled by all the players in this game. I have 4 planets...

Anyway since the Drengin don't seem to be pushing to hard only sending one fleet my way so far... and the Iconians haven't sent any... my main problem is the Korath turds...
A large force approaches me... a little more then 5 fleets of the buggers.

I'm still busy clearing the guys out... wait a minute... where the heck are the spore ships? I hate their super ability.

Apparently all their doing is slapping guns on the guys except the korath who seem to have some ships with shields... too bad I'm using missiles. 
Although it still seems that my ships and the korath ships are evenly matched... I have speed on my side... but he has almost 50% more hitpoints then me. But now with harpoon II tech I've been able to put 2 on my small ships, although I haven't built an upgraded small ship yet... why? because I have a destroyer class ship (medium hull) that I'm busy building to put those korath back in their place... 5 speed, 12 missile attack. Appropriatly (sp?) named the Death Howler.
But until the Death Howlers start coming off the production lines... the war rages on...
