Mods and Custom Maps?

So, I'm curious: Will Demigod support custom maps and/or mods? I mean, DoTA was a mod/map for Warcraft 3, and we all know that was a bit of inspiration here. That aside, modding allows for the game to maintain a longer lifespan. WC3 is a good example, as even today it proves popular with new maps being made by players.

 

I'm hoping to see mods/custom maps for this game. If not at release, maybe at a later date.

Right now it seems like it's not supported.  Demigod uses the new Stardock impulse to play multiplayer games and it doesn't have custom map/mods built in.

The developers might add this in after release, or in expansion packs.  It is in their todo list but not a high priority.

Theoretically it is possible - Sorian managd to make a mod manager and a few sample mods and I think a project or two is under way.  The problem is that GPG/Stardock may have implemented an anti-cheat system that also messes up modding.
