First and foremost this is like I call it a P.I.S.D that is : Project or Idea or Suggestion and Discussion
what does that mean ? that means at this point in time I'm thinking about it and gathering data, I or someone else may do a mod based on this but it's not really a sure thing
this discussion is intended for Twilight of the Arnor, in gigantic or superior galaxy sizes since this is what I play.
now, the goal of this is to strenghten the AI by modding the game so that the AI's "errors" won't significantly put the AIs at a disadvantage against the player...I got this idea while thinking about how easy it is in immense galaxies to generate so much money that you can buy almost everything from AIs
(which in my humble opinion is why some people disable tech trading)
-1 ) given the above, small diplo bonuses (about 2 to 3%) would be added to each and every tech out there because an AI seems to ask for more money if the average diplo is higher (that is, 43%player vs 20%ai will mean lower values than 103% vs 80% according to my own testing). Moreover it makes sense to me that the higher the technological advancement of a race, the more "intelligent", "able to see it coming" and "able to value things" races should be.
-2 ) the AI is bad at reordering planet buildings and tend to terraform planets before building factories :
-2 ) a ) terraform buildings would be reduced so that they can be completed within 1 turn
-2 ) b ) since this will reduce the value of the galactic achievement "Orbital Terraforming", this building could add an additional 10%PQ to race ability
-2 ) c ) similarly neutral alignments would get an additional 10%PQ race ability technology. (so available only to neutrals, untradable, unstealable)
-3 ) powerplants (and similar buildings) which are sometimes built before factories would get :
-3 ) a ) a shorter build time
-3 ) b ) an additional small production (would act like a factory itself)
-3 ) c ) increased upkeep to compensate for their increased power
-4 ) decreasing initial colony food productions (-50%) to make farms farming techs, and farming bonuses more interesting and because the AI tend to use farms too much (??? not sure about this one)
-5 ) increasing all morale buildings benefits by 10% so that building too much of them ain't as detrimental for the AI
what do you think of this ? anything to add ?
Finally, this is a discussion, I just gathered some info here and there and made my own conclusions, this is by no means intended to start insulting each other, though you can argue all you want, just try to keep in line with the subject which is : strenghtening the AI by any means at our disposal but without cheating for the AI too much
