Missing Expansion? The fudge is this.

C'mon guys..

Ok I bought galactic civilizations two gold edition from my EB, and I love it to death. But one thing REALLY is bothering me. It says it includes the Dark Avatar expansion, and it doesn't. I contacted the EB and they said that they were sent only the two CD's for the original... Anyone I can contact to get the full game? =[

If it's Gold Edition, it includes DA by definition. You might just have DL selected in the launcher (hit the 'switch chapter' button to change to DA if that's the case). DA is included in the Gold install, there's no separate disc as with some bundle games.

Hmm, i'll try it when I get home. (At my dads right now) I'll probably slap myself if I didn't notice it before, thanks.

Sorry for double posting, but it just ain't working. There is no "Switch Chapter" button, and when I try to update the game it says I have an invalid CD key, I tried everything. Not including dashes, including the little code beneath the CD key that looks like another piece to the CD key.. I don't know.

Any help?

I'll try re-installing it.

Well ok, I re-installed it and, bam nothing. Still doesn't work. =[ Possible they gave me a gold edition CD Key but no gold edition CD? >_<

Does it say the key is invalid specifically, or that the email address doesn't match the records? Odder yet that there's no switch chapter button, which indicates that you likely do indeed have Dread Lords discs in a Gold Edition box. Checking the version number shown at the lower left of the game's main menu will confirm that.

If that's so, then there may be a very simple explanation--some less than scrupulous character bought the Gold Edition, swapped out the discs for their originals, and returned it (and the store merrily rewrapped and resold it). In that case your best course of action would be to take it up with the store.
