Parallel Construction

Anyone else experimented with parallel construction so far? I built 3 light factories to (rabidly) rebuild a fleet, qued up a junkload of ships, and noticed something odd. Out of three factories, when my (5) kodiak cruisers reached "complete", I got three kodiaks... and two of the qued up hoshiko robotics cruisers. Anyone else seen anything like this?

Also, the "construction bars" might work a little better for parralell construction if you had multiple bars for when multiple ships are underway.

Ron, haven't seen that bug yet, but I will admit that the single bar can be pretty confusing for building multiple ships. I was thinking that instead of filling the button with bars they could simply use one bar with multiple colors in it so that it say starts out yellow for the first ship under construction, is green for the second ship, blue for the third, and then repeat the cycle. obviously the least complete progress bar would be the one on top.

Let me see if I understand what your saying... instead of having a single bar like so:

|--------------------------------------------------------|

We'll have multiple bars arranged as so:

|-----|--------|------|------|------------|----------|

With the smallest bars "on top" and to the left, so even the very end bar actually extends to the very "begging" of the bar, invisibly?

if you mean beginning, I think thats what he means yes. I actually like the idea.

Yeah, pretty much. So for three ships being constructed at the same planet you would have:

|-Blue-|---Green---|-Yellow-|

Representing:
|----------Yellow-----------| (Ship 1
|------Green-------| (Ship 2)
|-Blue-| (Ship 3)

Also you could put in an algorithm so that if the progress is say less that 1 second different in length it gets put into the same bar so that you didn't wind up with 7 different bars being represented in the tiny space.

Anyway.... i like this idea, lets you know when each ship can be sent to it's DOOM!!! (insert very evil laugh her)

Could me make it so when you put the cursor over the build button.. it lists somewhere the ships that in the list.. and how far along they are?.. kind of like how fleet lists appear when you but the cursor over the fleet tab?

It could even have how long till each ship is done..

On that note.. transparency on those lists would look nice.
