Heya.
Finished a galciv game... redular current version dread lords.... nothing impressive took out random (turns out to have been 3 + the scotties) tough opponents in a medium gaxacy ~8600 score.
Happened to win an influence victory, though I was militarily dominant as well having put down the drath -- who misinterpeted my pacifism for weakness...
In any case, the exciting bit was when I tried to upload the score to the metaverse.
It didn't like my login and kicked me out to the menu... fine I just reused the end savegame and tried a few more times.
Now why it wouldn't accept the password... (with which I got onto thos forum), is odd, but the real problem is that after my third or fourth attempt, when I hit the turn button on reload.... I didnt win. That's just weird.
It seems the Korx had somehow gotten a new planet which put me down from 81 to 74% influence.
Now, I dont mind the login weirdness, but the AI getting weird abilities/extra turns to mess with my won game is just aggravating.
I dont really mind not getting "credit" for my mediocre win, but I like the idea of contibuting to the dataset. I dont think my tactics were novel, but the war against the drath was mildly interesting.
Any thoughts on what happened and how to prevent it in the future?
Kind of reluctant to play long games... just to have them bollixed up at the end.
Thanks.
