I have a bit of a problem I'd like to fix.
First of all, IconPackager's Great, not sure what I'd do without it. With as many icons that it skins, you think I'd be happy, but its not skinning a few specific filetypes that I deal with a lot. I've never had an iconpackage change the icon for .psd files, .jpg files, or .mp3 files. Instead, I'm forced to look at a lame default photoshop icon or winamp icon. I've tried many things to fix it, including manually changing the icon in Iconpackager under 'files', "rebuilding the icon cache", "repairing icon images" and just plain right clicking on the file and swapping the icon around that way. I've actually considered trying to replace the icon file it references with the one that I want, but then I realized the icon file is in an .ipl package and the icon it references is the photoshop or winamp .exe. Only success I've had was changing the .pls playlist files for winamp. That worked, but nothing else seems to.
I thought that it was maybe because the filetypes are associated with photoshop or winamp. So to test this I changed the default "open with" program to something different (firefox for instance) and it changed all the icons to firefox ones. I even went into winamp preferences and unchecked the "associate filetypes with winamp" checkbox.
What is wrong? Is it because I'm running windows 2000? whats up?
