Good morning, Basj, Win 11 Home 23H2 Build 22631.3593 Win Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.10030

I have a shortcut to Start11 on my desktop as I am still exploring features. When I boot up in the morning the taskbar is at the bottom. I click on the shortcut to bring up the Start11 opening window, click on "Taskbar" and then click on "restart explorer" in the top right corner. Then the taskbar jumps up to the top where I put it before.

I have uninstalled Start11 and rebooted. Re-installed Start11 using the licence key given previously. I set it to move the taskbar to the top, which it did. It then found an update and prompted me to download and install, which I did. It then prompted me to re-boot to complete installation of the update, which I did and the taskbar is back at the bottom.

In a word, no and no. I haven't tried all the features but reconfiguringthe start menu does not work with the taskbar at the bottom after reboot. It does work with the taskbar at the top. Never heard of either Explorer Patcher or StartAllBack and have never installed any such until Start11. Way back there was a Registry edit that did the job but for the last 3 or 4 Windows Updates that has been disabled. Why? Heaven only knows.

First off, thank you to you and Basj for taking the time to look at this. Attached screen capture after re-boot, taskbar at the bottom, task manager running and showing Services - Start11 running. 

Okay, lets try the delayed start.

In the Task Manager, in Services, right click Start11 and select Open Services.

Once open, scroll down to "Stardock Start11," and then right click and select Properties.

Once this has opened, click the "Startup type: pull down menu" and select "Automatic (Delayed Start)" and click OK.

Now, reboot your computer and see if the Taskbar ends up at the top.

Let me know what happens.

Didn't get as far as the re-boot. I changed it to automatic-delayed and clicked on OK. A box popped up "The delayed auto-start flag could not be set.

Error 87: The parameter is incorrect.

I put it back to auto and backed out.

I have to take my wife to London tomorrow. It's her birthday.  So any replies will be delayed until Sunday.

I am sorry, I thought I saw Start buttons instead it was just a search box, (from your screenshot above)

It should remove Start11 and all it traces. Your saved/backup setting should be safe, but you could also save you backup file to safe location, just to be sure.

Just ran through the procedure and seem to be back where we started. I'll try it again but have a camera ready to take a screen shot as the bat file runs. There seemed to be a lot of "parameter not found" messages.

Thank you, Basj, I ran through the Purge and Reinstall again just now and it is back to square one, ie, Restart Explorer each time I boot up Win11. I did take a couple of photos of the Bat file running, which I will post up later. Will try the Sandbox and/or Clean boot.
