In the meantime I have finished the correction for the Fences v5 Dutch language file.
I will not make a push request on GitHub, because I want to be sure that the many
corrections will fit in Fences. The message ‘ Comming soon’ on GitHub assumes that
translators can view their translation in the context of the program. But the mentioned
comming soon since may 2023 has not become a solution yet.
So my question is: when wil you speak with the lead dev and how going further?
Again, Fences 5 translations can be submitted via pull request in GH. The only thing that is different in 'Group B' it that the translations cannot be viewed in real-time like they can with Groupy A.
I also have re-edited the existing Dutch language file for Start11v2.
Besides the fact that some lines where not translated at all, I also have corrected
many mismatches. Also I have discovered that some longer lines can’t be translated, because
the space for the translation is to short, so the last words are not shown in the dialog(s).
Also has the current author used many single quoted ‘ lines, where they are not used in
the original English translation.
Where the single quotes exist in the translated text, but not in the original left-side English text, can be removed. It's an artifact of the way we did the initial AI translation pass.
Furthermore, if it helps for some lines, trailing dots '...' can also be removed from the translated text where they exist even if they are in the left English text.
Lastly, if there are language-specific acronyms or abbreviations (PC instead of Computer for example) that can be used to help shorten right-sided translated text, please use them. What clearly must be maintained is professionalism, accuracy, and that the true meaning of the text is not lost - something it sounds like you are very familiar with.
Again, thanks for the time and effort, jkramer.
