Ok thank you
I dl'd the purge file and saved it in storage, just in case. Now here's the thing. After running the purge file the first time the WB uninstall window came up and I clicked uninstall. It ran fine for a few minutes then froze, it became unresponsive. By that time I had that same black screen with only my cursor working. Ctr+alt+del to restart. Boots back, WB icon is still on my dock. I run the purge file a second time because I wasn't sure if it completed successfully. Turns out it did. The uninstall went smoothly, no hiccups. Rebooted and went to my storage place for the backup installer package. I didn't have WB 10.65, only 10.62 and the 10.64 beta. Nice. Since I couldn't get to my downloads I installed the beta. No problem. I went to about and check for updates. Now, I know I had 10.65 installed because I had checked for updates when I saw the post about a new WB beta out there. I dl'd the new WB and installed it over the beta. It uninstalled the beta, rebooted my machine, installed 10.65, rebooted again and I got it activated. I changed the skin back to Kita and BOOM! Lol. Less than ten seconds and it was up and running. Something worked.
