[0.80] new Capitar sov (Carrodus) - possible bug/oversight

Carrodus starts with the tactician I trait (so that's also applicable for custom sovs with that trait). when you make him a commander, he can directly pick tactician II and III as his next level up picks, which allows him to get the very powerful "battle cry" ability (at the end of the commander tree) as early as level 5. 

not sure if this is a bug or WAD

Not just Carrodus, any custom Sovereign with Tactician is able to do it, as I reported.

True for other abilities as well.


Those abilities should be separate traits not part of any tree.

It does seem like a bit of an exploit. A defender I recruited had obsidian guard I, and I was able to go straight for obsidian guard II and III, but if I want to get the resistance to fire or ice, I have to go back to the beginning and get it there, so maybe it balances out?

In the long run it doesn't matter a lot for the reason you mentioned, but short term it can be incredibly powerful.

yeah, battle cry is pretty powerful - especially since the tactician 1/2/3 picks aren't exactly weak, either getting it that early can definitely make some fights a lot easier than they would normally be

Well in my opinion this is not exactly bad. I mean you have a General, you expect him to be a good leader right? Also it restricts your choice to the Commander which makes your hero a sitback do nothing kind of character

Always thought that was just part of the advantage of those sov or special champion traits. Doesn't really seem OP to me.
