I am a project manager who frequently has 100+ windows open and rapidly changes the desktop over the course of the day depending on which projects and new business opportunities are being worked on.
I am hoping to find some software that would effectively allow me to identify groups of applications, related files, and commonly used folders and basically launch them up as needed.
Stardock looked to be super-cool, with a great modern interface, and closely aligned with my requirements. I purchased a license.
However, I have discovered that the open application windows simply disappear from the Tiles interface on close. So for example, let's say I have a OneNote notebook open to a section that deals with a particular project. I shift-drag it to Tiles and see it appear on a page. That's great - but then, when i close the window, its representation disappears from Tiles.
What I want is for Tiles to remember what I was looking at in OneNote and leave it in Tiles as an inactive item. Then, I could launch it again when needed.
That's just one example, but if all I can do is literally drag files and folders to Tiles, having to manage windows only when they are open and on-the-fly, that's going to be too inefficient for daily use.
Please let me know if I'm missing something, and I'd love some best-practices for use.
