Hello i know i already discussed this on the IRC but still i want to have the Iconpackager section back at the next GUICthe GUIC wont be the same as it was in 2008 at least not for me.Iconpackager was a huge section and had jewels in them that i don´t want to miss...I think im not the only one feeling this way i know its to late to change it for this year but please pretty please with lots of candy on top please make room for it in the next GUIC...I know the Iconpackager section is open all year at wincustomize but so is WB DS and the wallpaper section...Iam a huge fan of the GUIC + but i was hoping to see Legends fight over the iconmasterofthedeskop title so sorry that wont happen this year...
It's good to see that the passion for skinning hasn't died out.
Cannot say I am angry, but I was quite surprised about this. Although my fave Icon Artists don't do any more icons nevertheless...
Icon packs were popular in the past, but we've barely had 20 submitted in the past year.
I'm bummed about it too.
I'm an icon guy. But Windows 7, and especially Windows 8, has really deprecated the importance of icons.
I think we'll see some new program show up that lets people customize Metro Tiles or something to be less..hideous.
Sounds like a good job for...........Stardock!
I think the low submissions had to do with finding a good set idea if i take a look at some of my favorite icon artists like Dario Arneaz or JJ Ying they spent hours on them making them look awesome... or treetog he has some super sets aswell besides his single icons... and there are others that also make good icons i bet the chance of having some top icon developers in the GUIC this year would have been big...When i take a look at dribbble ( yes i also surf dribbble ) i see plenty icons that are done by several artists they all look good but the idea is not from own origins... many icons have different styles but are based on an icon that has been already made i don't say that's bad i like the idea of making it more detailed - i love detail... but i would like to see something new something that had not been done yet - like Lineless back in 2008 !I like the idea of having a program to design tiles in a manner that you like...sounds like something great to me already Anyway im not here to judge over the decision that was made, i just think we are missing a good deal this year...
