Just in case anyone thought that Subjugating Assault was weak... (and a bug)

Note the fleet supply number.  That happened in a game last night against unfairs as AL.  I turtled up in my home system with my Coronata and four starbases.  That game, all I built were about 40-50 frigates, 5 capitals, and 1 titan.  Everything else was captured via Subjugating Assault and Domination (though I had to do that manually since the AI doesn't know how to use it well).  Towards the end of the game, I got as high as -824 fleet capacity.  Yes, I'm Advent and yes I know the synergies, but still.  I'm able to put out a force that other players would have to lose 75% of their income while I was only fleeted up to 40% or so.

Also note that apparently the AI named its titan "A devastating shockwave."  What?

Cool. Advent Loyalists need something awesome going for them. Also, what do you mean by "Coronata four starbases"? Did you really have four starbases at one world? Or did you have four planets and one starbase at each planet?

Also note that apparently the AI named its titan "A devastating shockwave."  What?

This is awesomeness. I didn't know the AI had such awesome names for its ships. Nor did I know that names of capitals and titans could go on that long.

From the pic it looks like he turtled on his home galaxy's star. So four starbases in one gravity well plus his titan. 

 

EDIT: IT would be awesome if his titan was a 'Has Rippled Phase Space' class titan.

Typo.  Should have been "Coronata and four starbases."  I was at a star.

The AI shouldn't be able to do that though.  It just picks starbase, capital, and titan names from a list.  Somehow the string from the Kostura's description got mixed up with an Ankylon name.

Epicness. Also Subjugating Assault is going to be far stronger at a star where you don't have to worry about antimatter. And the AI can't really deal with the differences of attacking a star versus a planet anyways.

I think a lot of people addressing balance and comparing iot to old style Sins are missing some of the subtle but big new possibilities built in to a lot of the new abilities and ships.

Great explanation and example here.

For example, an eco player on a team could Titan up and capture his fleet while building economy.

What we need now are people starting to make Rebellion-specific maps that are extremely well thought out with the new types of strategies and capabilities in mind.

mhh interesting. maybe a hint of whats chasing  the vasari maybe its hidden in the names of the ai fleet/planetes sometimes

 

Whats chasing the vasari ? "A devastating shockwave."  That was easy

 

maybe the trick is: the solutions whats chasing the vasri is in the english.str But u need to pick the right words together. Maybe somone can take a look in to how the ai find names for their ships.

A devastating shockwave is only in the string file as part of the description of the Kostura.  I already checked.

I should start taking requests and Ideas .... 

I've always enjoyed making galaxies in Sins, I just never released many.  The few I have are in the Distant Stars Map list.

 

 

So, I wonder what specifics you all have in mind?
