Was curious if it would take much tweaking, i'm not a programmer, but was joyed to have the devs load ships names by call rather than have them hard-coded as before. ( i think this was the last or second to last update we had in 1.18 or 1.19 or 1.191)
Anyway, a way to put together a rather 'informal' mini campaign struck me, something i have been wondering and thinking about for more than perhaps a year, maybe not that long, maybe close though. Anyway, was wondering since Sins loads all the elements of the game into the session at launch, to keep from having to have load screens in the game, if it were possible to have the devs load (or modders figure out a way to load) multiple maps.
My thoughts are that on huge maps, only one given star system is usually being used at a time, though, when things get heavy i guess it is sometimes several. But if multiple maps could be loaded and then accessed one after the other, or in the case of star systems on huge maps, accessed and then gone back to, or forward to the next map, by having to fight our way through probably,
Then we might have what in appearance at least is a mini campaign. If the maps could be cached, then perhaps even more than just a handful could be loaded at one time, say 12 or more?
It would make the games hugely long of course, haha
But a Sins game is long enough anyway, so what is a dozen more hours give or take?
Anyway, the persistent ships, the battles that play out over more than a single system, or even several multiple systems as in the huge maps might be very, very interesting. Just my opinion of course.
But i think it would be cool.
Just wondering if anyone else thought it might be cool?

Thank you for listening,
