still having the same problem myself around turn 230.... win 7 64   8 gb ram radeon HD 4890

If you have 4+ gigs of ram use the oom fix.  It allows more than 2 gigs for elemental and for me has eliminated all crashes. (though in theory it should crash eventually even with the extra memory)
