Currently in 1Z we are looking at testing for crashes. It's my impression from the forums we're still in the crashing testing phase. I've been holding off giving feedback on the gameplay until we get the green "we're looking for that."
The actual schedule has 1Z though mentions we should be looking at solidifying the mechanics.
BETA 1 (Fall 2009)
- Initial Build: Basic Compatibility
- Beta 1A: Initial Gameplay Skeleton
- Beta 1B: Initial Economic system Implemented
- Beta 1C: Initial AI system Implemented
- Beta 1D: Initial Diplomacy system Implemented
- Beta 1E: Initial Dynasty system implemented
- Beta 1F: Initial Magic system implemented
- Beta 1G: Initial Quest system implemented
BETA 1 Finale (Spring 2010)
- Beta 1Z: Solidified Game Mechanics
BETA 2: Multiplayer Beta (Spring 2010)
- Initial build provides basic multiplayer (Impulse::Reactor hosted)
- Beta 2A: Achievements, rankings, leagues
- Beta 2B: Custom Games
I'm wondering when we should go back to looking at Diplomacy, Magic and quests which although implemented are not fully fleshed out. Certain numbers issues still affect the economy and the UI has some work yet.
What do you figure ought to happen with the rest of the gameplay fleshing? Roll it forward to multiplayer, part of 1Z2, or just tackle it piece by piece throughout the five phases.
