I really like this game. It is like a strange cool mix of HOMM and TW.

The battles I've finally managed to get to grips with. Going after those battlefield locations really spice it up and can give some great battle stories. Plus it helps split armies up; I've learnt the typical mass army hording is not the answer. I've actually found these battles to feel a lot more rewarding than the battles I fight in TW.

Also, check out all the campaign map locations. They all provide cool bonuses. Some give +morale per season, others refill your troops without you having to recruit (which cost money).

Bonus research points and chances for more random quests. Hells to the yes yes.

All of a sudden the game has gone from impossible to enjoyable and challenging. Plus the whole fantasy edge to KA is a great experience to go through. Hurrah for a fantasy game that didn't settle on the generics of elves, dwarfs, orcs and what have you.

I hope this game gets an expansion to expand game play opportunities. Still, the game is rich in 'stuff' as it is.

The quests are deep and very well done and one can only hope we get this kind of rpg-questing within Elemental as well. (I'm sure it will be moddable if it doesn't get in)

Raven:  I"m not trying to steal your thunder.  Your review is a deeper examination.  I mainly wanted to let all the Dragon Age lovers know I found a game I like even better.    Also, I read your review and you are spot on.  I would imagine anyone looking forward to Elemental would at least find a few hours enjoyment from this game.

I LOVED this game, it was easily the best one I've bought this year.

This game doesn't have the replayability of TW: it's heavily scripted, with a small map, and you have to play it in a very concise way (or you are going to get butchered at the end of the game). You have to use the first book to recruit armies and conquer the map while holding the advance to other books and once you are ready, open quests little by little until the end of the game.

This game is a pitty: it's full of good ideas but the overall product is pretty bad right now The good thing is that the devs are putting a lot of effort in patching things and are pretty involved in forums reading user suggestions.

Or let you play as one of the other factions against Arthur.

The factions against King Arthur? What? That doesn't service the story at all. Arthur is the one true king. 

And it does have random quests! Expect more to come with updates!

I don't find the replayability limited at all. Four ways to play each very unique that demand different playstyles, in the quest adventures but also in the tactics you implement in your battles. In TW, it doesn't matter WHO you play because you'll be playing the same way. Your decisions will consist of the same train of though and your tactics won't vary much at all.

I've already spent 33 hours with this game. Left 4 Dead 2, which I got before this has been played only 35 hours. King Arthur will very soon overtake it and I think it very well may challenge my "always on" game of Football Manager which has only kept its lead at 50 hours of game time in the past two weeks.
