I need the functionality to mix two themes. (Taskbar + Windows).

Most skins don't have properly vertically configured taskbars.

Would you be able to send me a link to some version that I can download which still has the old GUI?

If you recall, I posted about my reservations about removing this functionality while half of existingl skins aren't propertly configured for vertical taskbars. 

Vertical users have no choice but to use the few skins that can handle vertical for the taskbar.

For instance - I prefer the Laguna skin, but it can not handle right-vertical taskbar, so I use another skin for the taskbar.

In Laguna, the startbutton is jumping around a bit when you try to click on it, or it is half obscured by the border of the screen. Plus, every time I click on it, it opens the User Configuration window. The task bar also doesn't have 3D look that I like, although this may be intended, I don't know.

I love the stylish windows on that skin but the taskbar is pretty useless for me, so while waiting for an updated release of this skin I prefer to use another skin for the taskbar. Many skins had this problem on Vista to, but as far as I know it never got fixed.

I am getting a bit fed up with the large amounts of problems I've been encountering as I try to set up my desktop, and don't feel like a particularly loyal Stardock customer right now.

I don't know whether anybody who actually works or SD tech support checks these forums or not, but I've tried to report the major issues that I've encountered. However I haven't got any form of concrete acknowledgement that obvious bugs are indeed bugs, or that they will be scheduled in for a review and fix.

I managed to roll back to the previous version of WB7 by moving an executable and some DLLs from a backup folder to the present folder, so my immediate problem is solved. But this is not a long term solution. Additionally, this is beyond the skills of normal users and I think it's wrong of Stardock to remove a feature that many people are using without warning users.

From my perspective, Stardock removed a workaround to a bug that I was suffering from.

I have worked for a major software vendor for many years and we really try to avoid irritating customers in this way.

But vstyler if you work for Stardock you should say so. I thought you were just a guy who enjoyed participating in this forum.

Btw I just posted several screenshots with mixed skin/taskbar and another random guy mentioned that he uses this feature immediately after I posted about it.

I think the rule of thumb is that you add functionality, not remove it unless there's a very good reason. I can't think what the reason should be for removing this.

Doesn't seem like mixing versions would be a great idea.  You might be better off uninstalling the current version and re-installing a prior version if you've got an archive.  Just a thought.

Correct.  Mixing files is very unwise.
