Your choice sticks for the duration of the tournament (so that people can't just switch to the winning side on a whim); once it completes and resets, you can choose again. Confusion over this has been common, so I don't doubt we'll add a confirmation there once we've dealt with the connectivity issues people are having and move on to content/balance updates.
