When I first installed sins I kicked every graphic setting to maximum. My rig can handle it but it tended to bog down in supermassive battles like the late game ones you have around stars with 4+ fleets clashing. Anyway it was also taking up a lot of my ram, on a fresh boot my computer uses about 20%. After running then quitting sins with extras on max it would always use 14%. Why would this happen? It seems other memory heavy programs were backing off when sins was running, but it never hit 100% usage.
But thats not the problem I had in mind. A couple days ago I downgraded all of the Extras to medium and turned off Anti Aliasing. This has caused a problem to pop up that seems to be new.
During the game I sometimes get this screen flicker. It happens very randomly and I have no idea what causes it, it only happens inside Sins at any rate. Basically the game is running, and then suddenly POP *fullscreen white* POP and back to normal. This happens very fast, you might miss the flicker if you were not looking for it. The white flash seems to happen whenever my mouse skips over something. The last time it happened I was moving my mouse cursor across the screen and it skipped over the one of the fleet buttons on screen. The flash happened the moment the cursor hit, or just after.
It doesn't happen very often so its hard to figure out whats causing it. But I am fairly certain that the flash comes from inside the rendered portion of the game view, the area inside the frame made by the Sins UI.
