This is actually a pretty neat blog that has some amusing entries:
Sins of a Solar Empire
I really like how he is getting into the game on a story basis (I can relate
). I thought this was a funny entry:
Riverpool Disqualified
By our correspondent
Riverpool, sole winners of the GalactiCup football title since the inauguration of this galactic league three years ago, has been disqualified after the semi finals in this galactic years title race.
The reason is that its owner, A’bram Ovich, is involved in a weapons trade scandal. The 40 year old business magnate from Alpha Major, who bought Riverpool last year, was mentioned in connection to a delivery of weapons to the home world of Lt. Nova. Trade of weapons is allowed along the phase lanes that were agreed during the extraordinary meeting of the Inter Galactic Trade Assembly (IGTA), provided it is designated as a weapons delivery and open for inspection by the members of the Inter Galactic Union (IGU).
However, a routine check of an ordinary convoy heading for Lt. Nova’s space ports unearthed large quantities of substances mentioned on the union’s list of sanctioned materials and weapons. A’bram Ovich is traced to be the registered owner of one of the ships in the convoy, the ‘Nova Sol’. That ship, our sources claim, was given to him by Lt. Nova after A’bram Ovich built two trade ports around his home planet.
The discovery is a direct breach against the Inter Galactic Sport Union’s (IGSU) rules of fair behaviour and indisputable standing. And the fact that two of Riverpool’s players – one of them being Lt. Nova’s cousin – travelled with the convoy did not impress the Sports Union’s body of representatives either. They voted unanimously for exclusion - but only after the furious delegate from Lt. Nova’s world had chosen to abandon the session.
The exclusion means that the final will most likely not be held this year. ‘A dreadful development’, said Eli Haado, the chairman of the union. ‘The Galactic Union’s situation is deteriorating and this is the last thing we need. Sport is here to unite people across empires, but today we witnessed a great divide’.
Football is one thing, war another. 'It seems quite clear to us that Lt. Nova is secretly building up his war machine', our leader said when asked to comment on the case. 'He is simply offending all moral sensibilities, causing great consternation and dismay in all of use who embrace peace and prosperity'.
'I will bring this before the Senate and engage in talks with my friend Lightrunner to see how we can make Lt. Nova to conform to the rules we set out together'.
Whoever you are Mr. BLCKBXXX, well done!
I look forward to reading more from you!
