Basically i would like to know if fences could work on a school network that uses with roaming accounts. This is because as part of the network upgrade scheme we have been asked for ways in which we think the user interface (particularly the way in which people percieve it, as that was highlighted as a major 'failing' of the network) could be improved. I believe that objectdock and the new 'fences' could both be options for use on the network, that would provide appealing visuals while maintaining a corporate look.
One of the main problems I can see for this would be file locations. How each user has their docks/fences set up would need to be stored in their roaming (my documents) profile whilst the icons wallpapers etc. would need to be stored on a central server and the actual program on the computer itself (from the way I understand it). I think that the icons/wallpapers wouldn't be a problem because they are after all just file paths but as I am unsure of where fences and objectdock store their 'profile' information I do not know whether they could be carried between machines.
If this could not be stored in the 'my documents location' I would like to suggest it for the 'final' version of fences (at least as an option) but, although i would highly recommend that such an option be included in ObjectDock (so tha you could market it at roaming profile networks) but understand that it is unlikely to happen.
Finally I would like to ask if there will be a 'plus' version of fences, and if any version of your applications are available with site licences.
Thank You
