One last thing, is the Antorak Maruader any good? i try to use it for raids, but it seems to be lacking in firepower and i dont know what ships it works well with. Any ideas?
It works well with pretty much every ship.
Phase Out Hull - probably one of the most underrated abilities, but it's amazingly awesome in the early game. For one thing, it can protect your own ships from focus fire. The enemies are forced to re-target, and you have plenty of time to retreat that ship. Or you can keep bouncing phase outs among a few capitals and spread out the damage taken considerably. My favorite use for it is phasing out enemy ships. If they're phased, they can't run, use their abilities, or anything else. If you go into a fight with enough antimatter, you can really cripple early game enemy fleets because you take their capitals out of the fight while you completely rip their frigates to shreds with your own frigates/capitals.
Subversion - you get to spy, and production is slowed on that planet. Works well with..
Distort Gravity - increases speed of all ships in radius and makes them immune to phase jump inhibitors. This is great if you need to run a blockade, or if your slow slow Jarrasul needs to catch up to the fleeing fleet quickly to zap them with a gravity warhead. Lots of great uses for this one. Stabilize Phase Space - temp phase gate that works both ways. It becomes immobile, but it only needs to wait for the ships to start jumping and then it can cancel the ability channeling and go do something else. It can't use its own gate. Obviously the ability to jump a fleet of ships anywhere on the map and not having to build a phase gate (like an enemy planet
) is pretty handy!
