Hey.
I have been seriously considering moving over to Multiplicity from Synergy for a number of reasons which I won't get in to. =o I installed the Multiplicity trial, and I'm happy to report that it was easily set up and running in a few minutes on two computers. However, I had one issue that I wasn't able to find information about in the manual or on any of the dialogs.
The situation is such:
The two computers that I'm hoping to run Multiplicity on in the long-run have two different desktop resolutions that I will not be able to change. These resolutions are 1280x960 (display 1, which is the primary) and 800x600 (display 2). Display 2 is to the left of display 1, and is configured such that mousing to the left side of display 1 takes me to display 2, and mousing to the right side of display 2 takes me to display 1.
In Synergy, when the software handles the mouse as it transfers between displays of different resolutions, the mouse's position is scaled so that it comes out in relatively the same place on the other display as it was when it approached the edge of the screen it traveled from. Like, for example, if I move my mouse towards the left-middle of display 1, it'll arrive at the right-middle of display 2, and if I move the mouse to the right-middle of display 2 it'll come out at the left-middle of display 1. (Despite the differences in screen geometry)
In Multiplicity, if I moved my mouse from the left-middle of display 1 to display 2, the mouse would appear nearer the bottom-right of the screen than the middle-right of it, and if I moved my mouse from the right-middle of display 2 to display 1, the mouse would appear nearer the top-left of display 1.
I hope I made the differences between Synergy and Multiplicity clear. Moving on, I prefer the behavior of Synergy in the case of different screen geometries. I would prefer having Multiplicity act the way that Synergy does in that aspect, and this is where my problem rises.
I couldn't find a configuration option or mention in the manual that addressed this issue. Does Multiplicity support doing the type of thing that I described of Synergy? If so, how can I enable it? If not, will it be included in Multiplicity in the near future? Ultimately this is the only thing keeping me from buying Multiplicity. =o
Thanks for your time.
