Hi all,
The Corrupt spell - that turns ordinary shards into death shards - is extremely overpowered. In my recent play-through I corrupted every shard I got my hands on. Once I got to 10 shards the game was over, it was only a matter of time. I could send my death adept sovereign to single handedly destroy enemy factions. He'd walk up to a city, use the army-wide poison spell (i forget it's name) and three quarters of the opponent would be destroyed with the rest falling to poison almost straight away. By the time i got 15 shards the spell defeated everyone on the first turn.
I suggest placing some limits on the corrupt spell. My suggestions are:
1, A ceiling on the amount of shards you can corrupt based on how many shards you already have. So only half you shards can be corrupted.
2, A diplomatic penalty for corrupting shards.
3, Corrupted shards don't produce mana.
4, A counter spell that returns the shard to normal.
5, The shard could automatically revert to normal if the faction loses control of it.
Anyway what do you think of the Corrupt spell?
Glupor.
