[hangs][0.86] Game hangs when a bear attacks a warg riding chapion.

 I repeated it 4 times from the auto save.  I have a chapion army in the most extreme North East ready to attack a bear.  The chapion approches into the bears attack range using the double movement from inititive.  Space after the first move and sheild stance after the second move.

I then tried same senario without using the sheild stance.  The game still hangs up.

Edit:  It is not the warg rider.  I tried to get through this battle so I let my peasants with sticks take the bears attack.  The game hung when the bear attacked the foot solders.  The first attack was dodged and their was no hang.  The second attack caused the hang.  I am thinking that when the maul ability activates is when this game hanged.

I've been having this issue as well.  Every combat with Bears (large & small) and a few other wild monsters I've encountered too.  The combat freezes when that monster goes to attack my hero in combat.  I'll try and upload file when it does it again.

This has been mentioned a few times.

Every enemy with the MAUL speciality (attack again and again until the target evades) at least causes a long pause (say ~30sec).

So maybe if you wait a while, your game will recover; mine always did, but it's extremely annoying.

Be warned that defending (shield icon) also takes a long time - maybe just as long.

For me its like the longe the game lasts  the longer the pauses get.

If i battle a bear within the first few turns the pause is negliable, later the time increases so much that i can pretty much only autoresolve those battles with maul type mobs in it.

This also prevents me from using any mauling weapons on my sovereign/heroes.

Your statement reminded me that when I started a new game, their is only a long wait.  Once in the midgame, the game hangs.  I can wait minutes for the bear to attack.  If i try to click on the screen, FE's window goes black and I get a window message that the program is not responding.

 

Edit:  I was not having this issue in 0.77.  The only diffrence in play was I am now playing a game on a large map.  I played on medium or smaller in 0.77.  The other possibility was that Nvidia updated their driver a day or two before 0.85 was released.

 

I ran an expiriment by rolling back my driver to the previous version.  The game still lags when I get attacked by a maul ability creature.
