So I made the mistake of creating a Sovereign back in 1.07 that was both Cowardly and Cruel. (I won't do that again!)
Well he was a Hoot to play in the early game, so I figured that I had the electorate hoodwinked...and then a strange thing started to happen somewhere between turn 100 & 200. With each passing battle (all of which I won with this stack) the Morale of the stack dropped lower and lower.
I was not surprised that the stack started with only 20 morale (but, the food was good so they still fought well), but I am a bit confused as to what variable caused the stack to continue losing morale slowly until they reached Zero over 50+ turns! I have had to be mighty creative to get fast kills on the tactical board before all of the units pee their pants while 2 point Spiders gnaw them to death (or I hit the auto-complete button and wake up from an alcoholic stupor with no idea of where all of my mana and credit cards went). I would love to hear ideas on how to get my troops to like my soveriegn (or at least not actively plot his assassination each night...).
What can reverse this insidious malaise within my ranks?!
Should I give them a pay raise? Slip Benzos in their evening Cocoa? Let them rest up in a city for 20 turns? Get them to a Nunnery?!
Tell me fellow Dictators! What is the secret to happy troops (or at least only moderately miserable ones) when your soveriegn is cursed to be Cruel, Cowardly and Good looking?
(...medical and dental are right out! Have you seen rates lately?)
Seriously, is this a glitch or intentionally sneaky on the part of the designers?
Thank you,
Consort out.
