Okay, all this laughter aside... 

I can understand that you don't want to have several of these programs on your system. Well, in this case it is possible to install Impule, don't allow it to auto-start, only start it if you wish to check for updates, then shut it down again. See it like an Elemental-Update program, especially as it doesn't have to run if you play Elemental.

Wait, I am having issues using Impulse.  I tried using my Tandy 1000TX to run Elemental and, man, I am having all sorts of weird effects.  Does this magnetoplasmadynamic technology keep me from using the 5.25" floppy drive?  I think I got hosed when I bought this game?!?!?!?

Is your Tandy 1000tx expanded to 768k RAM? Elemental requires 600k base memory to run. The 1000tx uses 128k as VRAM.

Also are you using the JEDEC MPD shielding jacket for you 5.25? its needed to stabilize the polarity of the drives magnetic reading dynamo, MPD can cause excessive vibration leading to writes on the 81st track.

No worries, I solved the problem.  I opened up the case on the Tandy 1000TX, I hooked car battery cables to my nipples (remember- left nipple is negative, right nipple is positive), and then hooked the cables to a 12volt car battery.  Boy howdy!  Can't say it did anything for the computer but my sinuses are cleared, oh and my nipples are glowing. 

kryo, it's actually not difficult to place a drink in front of your system using a floppy drive. You simply need a flat piece of wood which'll fit halfway into the drive, with enough remaining outside to hold your coffee.

On a 3 1/2" it's even easier, as (if you have but a little cup), the disks will hold it for you already... 

(Any of you guys got this game running on a Sperry/Univac 1100? Or an Hp9845? Hey, these are supposed to be powerful machines!)
