[v1.0]No spell effects, gold glowy

I'm having fun playing so far. Like others I'd like to see the spellbooks improved to a degree, there is a bit of sameness to them.

The only real problem I'm having is I don't get any spell effects at all ... ever (not just occasionaly like some people with fireball). And no gold glowy effect at notable sites.

I don't have particle effects disabled. Stardock, what can I send you that would help you?

Well for me it's 60/40 , I mean I get spell effects in a bit more then half cases.

In others I see just numbers/miss and that's it.

First I was thinking it's just fireball, but then I got inferno, arcane arrow and others - same "effect" , meaning no effects.

I'm in the same boat as the OP, no spell effects, no nimbuses around notable locations. And the no particle effects button is not selected.

I"m getting the same problem. It seems that particle effects are working on the strategic map, I see things like glowy bits on shards and whatnot but in tactical combat the caster goes through casting animation then damage is applied on target which reels from getting hit. I did see the fire giants flame gout and the imp's flash when it uses blink so seems to only be when a caster is casting a 'proper' spell.

I run into the same problem with the complete absence of particle effects for spells (or other places, but the absence of a fireball is easiest to note). No glowies on notable locations either.

I've tried disabling/re-enabling particle effects, and tweaked a few other graphics settings, with no change yet.
