Okay so, recently I installed Sins on my laptop (it was only on my desktop before) and now for some reason I cannot get ship icons working correctly.

basically, i'm unable to have ship icons visible inless im really really close to the ships.  normally i can see the ship icons from a very far distance.  I have all graphic settings maxed as well.   I played around with UI settings and found that unchecking "show icons" actually brought back the ship icons.  the problem now is that this in turn disabled the planet "health bars" (i call them) that allow me to quick select all military ships on a planet by simply selecting the left "bar" on the planet itself when you're zoomed out.  this also tells me the ratio of my colored ships vs others. the bars on the sides show the amount of defenses also.  So now this disappeared since i turned off icons to see ship icons.  On my desktop I somehow have both ship icons and planet ui icons working simultaneously.  anyone have any trouble with sort of thing before that would be able to help me out?
