Quick preface to my response: I mostly pug now. I did play solely in premades for quite some time.
I know the OP is a little off, but the point is that people freak out simply because of familiarity. I'm pretty sure these guys are a weaker premade, but people run like hell just because familiarity is high.
I'll go a step further - the pug community is generally responsible for pug stomps. Yup. Sounds crazy, but its "experienced" players that see the high familiarity and then leave the games that result in people with lower skill joining. One of us "talented" more experienced players will join their game, realize "its a trap" and then piss off. Then a newer, more inexperienced player will join and stay... only to be joined by another player who isn't aware that he should "run like hell" if familiarity is high.
Now, you experienced folks - let's be realistic. If a couple of you joined their game and waited it out, based on their stats alone, odds are you would crush their premade. But simply because of high familiarity, you probably run. And that's a problem. I've accepted that, generally speaking, I personally can't play on the same team as my friends because of the overlay. Should it really be that hard for less experienced players to play together and get in a good game? This is a problem with our little community.
