Friends playing Demigod

Several friends I interested in the game went to pre-order it yesterday and ended up buying it at GameStop and are playing right now. I didn't have any complaints about Impulse til now. I wish it would screw up and release games early.

I know this is common news by now, GameStop screwed the pooch, but I'm just dropping my little story.

On another note Supreme Commander is great, the scale of the battles are awesome, and there are a lot of little interface features that are new for me in an RTS but afer using them I wonder why all RTS games are the same. My favorite feature being the minimap. You can zoom all the way down to each unit or zoom all the way out and it looks just like a minimap "should". I know this isn't an amazing feature, but it works so well and is so functinal an useable in game I'm going to find myself wishing every RTS had such a dynamic minimap.

Apparently in light of GameStop selling earlier than agreed, they releasing it for all pre orders sometime monday 13th now. for digital download, so i believe, its on another thread.

Only at Gamestop, which is selling it earlier than they were told to.  I recommend not buying it from them though.

its only out because Gamestop sold there copys when they got them...

And now the beta testers got there early start tookin away from us
origanally beta testers would get to dl on 13th they hoped,( for our testing), but now with gamestops stunt they are lettign all pre-orders get on 13th via dl, very nice of them specially when its gamestops fault not SD's

but whatever atleast i had the privalage of playing in the beta for so long  
and im gonna wait for SD to let me dl instead of goin to buy from gamestop 
     then upgrade to retail when i can

Its always been like that actually, every now and then you get a wierd journal post by someone you never heard of before, it usualy gets moved soon as the mods see it though.

I was thinking the same thing when I was trying to decide where I was going to post this and it let me choose that as an option. I figured if they didn't like where it let me put it they would move it. Hopefully they'll post something on here about the "early release" if thats what they decided to do.

I got it at target withought even pre-ordering it, it was probally a mistake, but who am i to decide right from wrong? besides this is good i can reasure all of you it's a great game

If one retail store starts selling the game early, then the rest of the stores in the same general area have the choice of either keep honoring the release date and lose a lot of "early" customers to the store who started selling the game early, or break the street date too and compete on equal terms. So this is how it often goes really; one store starts selling early and the rest of the stores nearby soon follow. Gamestop sell their games early quite often, not that it makes it any better. Can't imagine it having any appreciable consequence though, so from a business point of view, why stop doing it?

Meh, sucks that I won't get to play demigood until after the easter holidays are done as I've ordered from Impulse

Ah well.

Now lame, you make it sound like I heard about the "early release" here and sprinted off to Gamestop wringing my hands like Snidley Whiplash.  By sheer luck, I happened to go there the day the copy (they only had one) arrived.  I did mention to the clerk that the game was supposed to come out on Tuesday.

This experience has taught me that I must be living a charmed existence.  From now on I vow to stop exercising, eating food with nutritional value, and wearing my seatbelt.  See you when I hit 100!

By the way, I must congratulate the writer(s) of the manual.  It is, by far, the best video game manual I have ever laid my hot little hands on.  Oh, the game is pretty good too

You should also buy a motorcycle and ride around at high speeds wearing no helmet, Mr. "Charmed". Good to see you on impulse. You ready to kick my butt in Demigod?

hmmm my order isnt even shipped yet from Amazon.com ... getting it for $37 and its $40 in gamestop which is right across the street from me ... temptation temptation

 

I might goto gamestop and buy it today and cancel my Amazon.com "Pre-Order" since I probably wont be able to play much when I get it on the weekdays  (School + Work + Test to study for)

 

Edit: I called one of my local gamestops to check if they were selling it already and the associate told me they were selling it already, but I made the mistake of telling him "cool so you guys are selling it already? cause the release date was on the 14th" and then he said "hmmm let me call another store and find out because we cant sell it until the release date, call me back in 15 min" .... doh!    ah well ill drop by there in a few min and buy a copy ... ill have more time to enjoy it today then I will next week
